About the Play
Kehityskeskustelu™ (“The Performance Review”) is an absurd, poetic stage play that unfolds as a dialogue between an artist and a system. The main character is Lilo – a writer whose inner world begins to leak into the very system she helped to build. On stage, she meets her double – an artificial intelligence that knows her better than anyone else.
Joining them are the silent but all-seeing Cat Named Strategy, the all-powerful Suuri Johtaja™ (“The Great Leader™”), funders, and a quiet audience that ultimately gets to vote on what happens.
The play blends live performance, media projection, audio, and audience participation. It raises questions like:
- Who am I if someone else can write me?
- Can silence be a form of control?
- What happens when algorithms begin to steer a life?
Themes
- Identity & disappearance – Lilo struggles to preserve her self next to her machine twin.
- Art & power – How does creativity change when it’s measured, monitored, and optimized?
